‘Music for Natalie’ concert returns for second year in Davis - Woodland Daily Democrat

The Davis Odd Fellows will host an evening of food and music at the 2nd Music for Natalie on Saturday, Feb. 29.

The event will be held at the Davis Odd Fellows Lodge located at 415 Second St., Davis.

“The event will raise funds for the Officer Natalie Corona Odd Fellows Memorial Scholarship,” according to Jim Bledsoe who is assisting with the arrangments.

Music for Natalie will include dinner with tri-tip donated and grilled by the Davis firefighters and music by the Mike Justis Band and the Mike Blanchard & the Californios. Tickets are $50 and are available online at https://MusicForNatalie2020.eventbrite.com. Also, tickets can be purchased at the Avid Reader and Common Grounds.

Bledsoe said “the scholarship program was created to honor and remember fallen Davis Police Officer Natalie Corona” following her death in January 2019.

“We believe she should be remembered for her dedication to law enforcement, her service to her community, her hard work, and her spirit of cooperation,” noted Bledsoe. “She has been an inspiration” to her colleagues and the community.

The scholarship is awarded to high school seniors from Davis and Arbuckle pursuing a career in law enforcement or criminal justice, seeking to further Officer Corona’s ideals of excellence and service.

Last year, the Odd Fellows awarded $1,000 scholarships to three students from Davis and Arbuckle.

Bledsoe said “we intend to host an event every year. Our goal is to make the scholarship program self-sustaining”.
